About Us

Eightfold Path, Inc

Eightfold Path, Inc is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization that creates therapeutic programs to help alleviate human and non human suffering. Our programs tend to focus on healing individual, generational, and collective trauma, but are not limited to human suffering caused by trauma. We welcome programs that address the needs of special groups, the animal kingdom, and Mother Earth.

We serve as a fiscal sponsor for projects and organizations who do not have tax exempt status and who meet our guidelines. Eightfold Path makes it possible to receive grants and tax deductible donations to meet fundraising goals that ensure a project's success.

We have strict guidelines and an application process to join our umbrella. We are careful to ensure that outside projects fit our mission and adhere to proper distribution of funds. Please visit our Apply page for more information.

What is Fiscal Sponsorship ?

Fiscal sponsorship offers a way for a special project to attract donors when it is not recognized as tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). The fiscal sponsor serves as the administrative "home" of the project. Charitable contributions are given to the fiscal sponsor, which then allocates funds to support the project's goals.

A fiscal sponsor is a nonprofit organization that provides fiduciary oversight, financial management, and other administrative services to help build the capacity of charitable projects. The role of the fiscal sponsor can include performing many different administrative functions on behalf of the sponsored organization or program, including taking on the responsibility of receiving and administering charitable contributions on behalf of the sponsored organization.

Fiscal sponsorship requires the fiscal sponsor to accept responsibility for proper use of the funds and the operation of the project the funds support. The fiscal sponsor, in order to ensure proper use of funds, may exercise control over the recipient organization and is liable for reimbursing the foundation for funds used improperly.

Trauma is  perhaps the most  avoided, ignored, belittled, denied,

misunderstood, and untreated cause of human suffering.

The Noble Eightfold Path

"The Noble Eightfold Path is made up of Right View, Right Speech, Right Livelihood, Right Mindfulness, Right Concentration, Right Thought, Right Action and Right Effort. Right View is the insight that we have within us of the reality of life. Our insight, understanding, wisdom, knowledge, happiness, and the happiness of those around us depend very much on the degree of Right View that we have. That is why Buddhist practice always aims at helping us develop a deeper understanding of what is going on within us and around us." - Thich Nhat Hahn ( Dharma talk 1995)
