A Cup of Meditation Blog

To all travelers on the path of the heart, A warm welcome!

In the quiet space between breaths, there is a universe. In the warmth of a teacup held between your palms, there is a homecoming. This blog is an invitation to explore that space, to remember the ancient art of being present. Here, we will not be adding more to your life, but rather, peeling away the layers that keep you from feeling its richness.

We will steep ourselves in the wisdom of tea, sit in silence with meditation, explore the teachings of the dharma, marvel at the insights from neuroscience, and listen to the profound intelligence of our own bodies through Somatic Experiencing™. This is a journey back to the simplicity of a single sip, a single breath, a single moment of awareness. Let's begin. Gassho.

* (the Japanese character to your left is kokoro, which denotes the heart or essence of a person, a sense of emotional or spiritual resonance. It encompasses the feelings of nostalgia or the experience of profound beauty. It is also closely associated with the idea of “mono no aware,” which  refers to a sensitivity to the impermanence and transience of life, and the bittersweet sadness that arises from this awareness.)
