Nestled in the heart of Newcastle, Maine, Sacred Restoration offers a sanctuary for deep, lasting healing. We specialize in Somatic Experiencing® (SE™), a gentle, body-centered approach developed by Dr. Peter Levine—that works with the nervous system to gently resolve the lingering effects of life stress, trauma, anxiety, overwhelm, depression, chronic emotional and physical pain, and more. Rather than reliving difficult past experiences, we support your body in completing what was interrupted, restoring a natural sense of ease and balance from the inside out.
We believe that true healing happens in connection - connection to the self, to a supportive community, and to the natural rhythms of Midcoast Maine. Whether you’re navigating the aftermath of a specific trauma, feeling stuck in survival mode, stressed out, overwhelmed, or simply longing to feel more connected and present in your life, our local workshops and support groups offer a safe and compassionate container. Here, you can gently unwind patterns of nervous system overload, build lasting resilience, and reclaim your innate creativity and wholeness at your own pace, in the company of others who are walking a similar path.
If you’ve been longing for a place where you can show up exactly as you are, we warmly invite you to reach out or join one of our programs.

Alexandra has worked for decades at the intersection of trauma healing, contemplative practice, and psychological insight—bringing together her clinical experience with a lifelong immersion in Buddhist practice. She is a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, a Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapist, holds a PhD in East-West Psychology, and is the founder of Eightfold Path and Sacred Restoration.
For several years she studied and worked closely with Dr. Peter A. Levine, the founder of Somatic Experiencing®, developing the Returning Home Project, an intensive Somatic Experiencing retreat protocol for military veterans suffering from combat trauma. She served as Director and Principal Investigator for the project, contributing to PTSD research for veterans. This meaningful collaboration grounded her in a clinical understanding of how the nervous system holds and releases the imprints of trauma.
Alexandra's private practice in Newcastle, Maine, offers Somatic Experiencing one-on-one sessions, workshops, support groups, and immersive retreats, Her work gently guides you home to yourself, helping restore nervous system regulation, emotional balance, resilience, and a deeper sense of wholeness.

The Somatic Experiencing approach works directly with the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) by resolving persistent self protective responses of Fight, Flight, or Freeze. These tenacious physiological states of trauma are resolved by gently guiding clients to develop increasing tolerance for difficult bodily sensations and suppressed emotions. This helps the mind-body to release stored survival energy that results from traumatic shock, restoring the natural rhythms of the ANS, which is key to transforming stress and PTSD and the trauma symptoms of hyperarousal (anxiety), shutdown (depression), and other chronic symptoms associated with nervous system dysregulation.

Sacred Restoration
A 6-week Somatic Experiencing®
Trauma Healing Support Group
Newcastle, Maine
Sacred Restoration is an Invitation to Return Home to Yourself:
There are moments when the body holds what words cannot express. For those navigating the lingering effects of chronic stress and trauma, including anxiety, depression, overwhelm, and the sense of being stuck or disconnected from oneself, the path forward can feel unclear and out of reach. You may have tried talk therapy, gained insights and perspective, yet still find your nervous system responding as if the past is still present, as if your life will never change.
Sacred Restoration offers a different kind of approach to healing the wounds and patterns of our past that persist:
Sacred Restoration is a six-week immersion into the wisdom of your own nervous system. Rooted in the Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) approach, this group is designed not to recount painful memories, but to gently guide your nervous system back toward regulation, safety, and ease.
In a small, confidential group setting, you will learn to track different nervous system states and bodily sensations, expand your capacity for discomfort, and discover what it truly feels like to release the past and feel safe and at ease in the present moment.
This group is intended as a supportive complement to individual therapy, while also experiencing the power of somatic healing in community.
